FAQ
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, I accept BlueCross BlueShield, Anthem, Aetna, Cigna, Humana and United. Check your benefits and co-pay here.
What should I do to prepare for my first session?
Help me be thoroughly prepared for our session by completely filling out all intake forms prior to our first session. This is key to helping me to get to know you and your needs before we meet. To get the most out of your session, it is recommended that you find a quiet and private place to sit during our call, so that you can speak freely and without distractions.
I have never seen a dietitian before, what should I expect during my first appointment?
It is normal to feel a bit apprehensive and nervous before your first session. Rest assured that our session will be completely private and you are in a judgment-free zone. Our sessions will be primarily focused on your needs and how you would like to approach your wellness journey.
How is this different from a diet or weight management program?
Diets and calorie counting are a single dimensional approach to health and wellness. My focus and treatment plans are multifaceted. We will work together to understand the root cause of the problem and create a plan to help improve your relations with food and your body. I treat the whole client, not just the number on a scale.
How do your personal experiences influence your work with your clients?
My past experience with an eating disorder helps me approach my clients with the empathy and compassion they deserve. I have an understanding of what it is like from my client’s point of view. My journey can serve as an example to clients that recovery is possible.
How do you approach clients that have eating disorders?
The mission of my practice is to lead from a place of empathy and compassion. I focus my care on the whole patient, utilizing varied counseling techniques based on each client’s specific need.
What are some of the ways you help athletes?
Nutrition is the fuel that helps us achieve our fitness goals, and optimizes overall health. From improving performance to injury recovery, proper nutrition and hydration, can be the athlete’s secret weapon. I also treat athletes who are competitive or just leading an active lifestyle that suffer from disordered eating, eating disorders and RED-S. My goal is to help get you back to the sport that you love!
